Musings from our trip north …
- Believe it or not, I awake at 5am so we can get out of town fairly early for the 10 hour journey! Who can sleep anyway?!?
- We witnessed one of the most beautiful, fire glowing red sunrises ever!
- The statue of Sam Houston in Huntsville along I45 is NOT lit!?! I thought it was always lit?!?
- Unfortunately, there is plenty of evidence of grass fires along Highway 40 in OK … even crossing the highway in a couple of places.
- We also see smoke from an apparent forest fire in Arkansas.

November 2005 was the start of a major transitional period in the lives of my husband of 31 years and I. We hope that my husband Jake will retire in the first quarter of 2007. In preparation for this huge life-changing event, we signed a contract which allowed the construction of our dream retirement home in Arkansas to move forward last November. As we have never built a home before, this entire process should prove to be quite interesting. Add in a little pre-retirement jitters and sprinkle with the ever interesting events in our children’s lives and you have the basic premise of this blog! You are welcome to join me in this journey!!!
