Giving Up Anger for Lent!

Posted by Sue on February 27, 2006

The Lenten season is almost upon us.  Time to either take up or give up a cause for the duration of this 40 day penitential period.  I ran into these Bible passages recently and have decided that I need to give up my anger this year … especially my instantaneous outbursts when "discussing" controversial subjects with hubbie!  Said another way … I need to take up peace on a full time basis!

My dear brothers, take note of this:  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life the God desires.  Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

James 1: 19-21

And now I can't find the other passage.  Guess we already deleted it out of our email!

Baby’s Heartbeat!

Posted by Sue on February 21, 2006

Missy went in to see the doctor today to see if they could hear the baby’s heartbeat since they had not been able to do so during the previous week’s appointment.  All is well … no trouble hearing our grandchild’s heartbeat today!!!

Peter wrote to say that their offer on this home has been accepted!  Closing is supposed to be in mid-March!  As such, they should have plenty of time to settle into their new digs!!!

BTW … thanks to super spy Fred for lurking about San Antonio and getting some shots for us!

Reagan on the Economy

Posted by Sue on February 18, 2006

The government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Posted by Sue on February 17, 2006

Missy called to say that they have found a home they are very interested in putting a contract on.  It is located in northwest San Antonio inside the 410 loop and about 15 minutes from downtown.  Location is great with easy access to 10 and 410!

MysticMaid Cleaning Cloths

Posted by Sue on February 15, 2006

MysticMaid sells microfiber cleaning cloths and towels.  As I dislike using chemicals to clean around the house, I am quite interested in experimenting with their products.  The microfiber cloths I presently use certainly do a fantastic job and I would expect that these would as well!

2006 Blizzard Carson

Posted by Sue on February 12, 2006

2006 Blizzard Carson

One of the BIGGEST snowstorms ever to hit the East Coast has dumped up to 2 feet of snow from Washington DC all the way up to Boston.  It is a record snowfall for NYC at 26 3/4″!!!  Family bureau chiefs in the Hartford, CT area have provided evidence of the snowfall and those photos are posted over on the family Flickr site.  Many thanks to them for taking time out of their busy day to share these memories while lounging around waiting for the snow to stop … or at least slow down!!!

And, lest I forget … this is the weekend Princeton celebrated 35 years of Women’s Athletics.  Jake and I almost went to the event and had planned on meeting up with family in NYC today!  I have visions of being stranded in Princeton and in airports for days after the mess which this blizzard will undoubtedly cause!
