The Cooper construction/design engineer happened to mention to Jake that he expected we might break ground April 6th. This will be interesting since we still haven't finalized plans and specs yet! We are all but ready to start now. Just hope we are around to write the check because we have a very special family event during that timeframe which we will not miss! It is the only time I expect to see my sisters this year. Busy year … for everyone!!!

BabysFirstSite.com … A friend of a friend maintains this baby site wherein she documents baby's development in utero. It is very interesting and has 3D ultrasounds and diagrams. Nice to check out as the weeks slowly pass by …
The site itself is a very nice one for Baby's First Website but … it is not free! If you don't mind paying the subscription fee, it would be worth checking out.

Karen and Billy join Jake and I as we celebrate hubbie's birthday.

We ate dinner at Cheesecake Factory in The Woodlands and no one had cheesecake. Lenten disciplines and lactose intolerance prevented us from enjoying their delicious desserts. I was certainly drooling though!

We are in constant contact with our builder these days as we finalize specs and plans on our retirement dream home. Ground was to be broken March 30th. However, the architect revealed today that said ground breaking may be delayed as the septic permit has yet to be received. As such, we appear to be experiencing our first construction delay! And, I have my first part in a series of what will undoubtedly become many posts on construction delays!!!

Missy had her first sonogram today! They were mostly amazed at how much the baby was moving! The tech said it was a little early to take measurements. But, she did take a couple of casual measurements anyway and determined that their child was right where he should be at this stage of development. There are also pictures but I forgot to ask if they were digital pictures which they could easily email. I guess we will find out later today!
Apparently, no determination of sex was made yet … at least, no one volunteered that information yet! I was surprised when they told me that they would want to find out the sex of their baby. Then Missy quickly reminded me that she is a planner … DUH!!!

Missy and Peter are also supposed to close on their new home today! Hope all goes well there!!!
Speaking of which … I was privileged to spend the weekend in San Antonio with the kids. We did wander past their new home a time or two. It does indeed appear to be quite nice and I can’t wait to get a peek inside in a couple of weeks when we are in San Antonio for Carol’s wedding.
Missy and Peter have quite a daunting task ahead of themselves as they get ready to settle into their new home. Having lived on a university campus as a result of Missy’s job for the past couple of years, they haven’t had to accumulate household furnishings. Heck … they wouldn’t have had anywhere to put them if they had purchased them! SO … that requires many decisions regarding household purchases to be considered and made very soon! I spent the weekend pulling drawers on possible furniture purchases … and loved every minute of it. The only problem was that I was not only exhausting myself but also my pregnant daughter! Not a good thing!!!
