Geek to Live: Lifehacker Zeitgeist - Lifehacker … Top 12 posts on Lifehacker in 2006! All appear to be geeky but well worth the read. Includes the one about upgrading the software on your wireless router! Can you say AR!!! How about the one having to do with reformatting one’s hard drive and installing XP! Could have used that one recently as well!!! (What a nightmare!!!)

Missy has been trying to get Aaron used to falling asleep in his crib now that he is 3 months old. It hasn’t always been easy but seems like progress is slowly being made.
Today Aaron fell asleep without crying this morning - for over 2 hours!! This morning he had fun trying to move one of the rings up the side of his “play rug”. Right now he is playing with the dinosaur. He is trying to get the ring into his mouth - but all he gets is his fist - he can’t turn his hand quite yet to get the ring. He is doing really well about trying to put things into his mouth.

Yes indeedy … we finally closed on our dream home December 14th!

And here is a shot of the ARCMEW … that would be the Architectural Review Committee Memorial Egress Window! LOL!!!
I will have to write more another time though as the holidays don’t allow for extra blogging time! Suffice it to say that all went well and we are eternally grateful for everyone’s assistance in making this dream come to pass!!!

Welcome to the world Scarlet Lynn! Our new granddaughter made her grand entrance today at 3:34pm weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz and 21 1/4 inches long. Her mother was a champion and is feeling outstanding. The entire family is overjoyed at the miracle of birth which blessed them today! AMEN!!!
UTA: Isn’t she beautiful? precious? angelic? How blessed are we as grandparents with our two newest additions to the family? What a year! THANK GOD!!!

In his own room … and NO Baby J yet so we go to AR for a closing on December 14th!
Aaron has now slept two nights in his own room. He is doing really well there. Actually, he is probably sleeping too much at night. The past two nights he’s slept 12 hours. Now, he’s not really taking naps the way that he is supposed to - so we’ll have to work on that. But he is only feeding twice in those 12 hours. So, he is doing well. I am going to try and work on the naps a little bit more. I have trained him to take naps in his bouncer or on me (when I’m wearing him out on errands etc.) and I think it’s time for him to take them in his crib (which doesn’t bounce or move). So we’ll see how this all works itself out. He’s actually still sleeping right now and it’s almost 7:30. So I imagine he won’t be taking very long naps today either. Maybe because he’s such a big kid he can sleep this long at night. Around 3 months they are supposed to sleep about 10 1/2 hours with about 5 hours worth of naps throughout the day. He’s really not supposed to sleep 12 hours until he is closer to six months. Oh well, we’ll see!

Karen again keeps us posted on her status. Basically, she is still in a holding pattern and us grandmothers are collectively holding our breaths waiting for the big event!
Thank you all for sharing in this excitement with us as we await the birth of our little girl. To answer a few questions, yes, we are still pregnant and no, have not gone into labor as of yet. We went to the doctor on Monday and they checked her heart rate and did a stress test. We were told that she seems to be doing well and is healthy. Her heart rate was good with the normal accelerations. She was sleeping through the stress test for the most part, which was amusing as she had been kicking and moving around quite a bit just an hour and a half before. She sometimes moves constantly for an hour or so then goes to sleep for hours; it’s pretty sweet and a blessing to know she is doing well. We are very excited to meet her. I’m feeling very well, which has been nice. I know all you moms can attest that that feeling may be shortlived since sleepless nights are just around the corner, but for now it is nice and I haven’t felt super uncomfortable (well, the first five and a half months were rough, but these last four have been nice overall). As of Monday, I was a bit more effaced (70%) but not really dilated (a little over 1 cm). The doctor scheduled an induction for next Monday, December 11th. We are to call on Monday morning at 5 and see if there’s availability at the hospital, and if there is we are to drive over to be induced. I go back to the doctor’s office tomorrow for another stress test. If we go into labor before then, wonderful. If not, we plan on calling the hospital Monday morning.
