J Fam Updates … If She Could Just Stand Up …
Posted by Sue on July 25, 2007

… she would be happy doing anything and everything! As it is, Scarlet’s ability to stand may create a little bump in the road. Funniest of all is the way she can be sound asleep in your arms and the second you put her down to sleep, she rolls over … sits up … and is standing up cribside crying away begging to be picked up! Just unbelievable! Good luck Mommy and Daddy!!! This habit is going to be a tough one to break!!!
I saw this behavior last night in her home but today I got to experience it in person as I was blessed to watch our little granddaughter. And … she doesn’t like to drink or eat for me very well. Of course, I don’t have a high chair yet so that may be the problem with the food. It appears she is much more interested in checking out everything in our little apartment. Mommy makes it all better though … Thank God!!!

Everywhere I Go I See You
Posted by Sue on July 20, 2007
OK … my fave song these days is “I See You” by Michael W Smith from his album Worship Again …
Lord, You’re leading me
With a cloud by day
And then in the night
The glow of a burning flame
Chorus
And everywhere I go I see You
Everywhere I go I see You
And You take my hand
And You wash it clean
I know the promised land
Is light years ahead of me
(Repeat Chorus)
And the eagle flies
And the rivers run
I look through the night
I can see the risin’ sun
(Repeat Chorus)
Well, the grass will die
And the flowers fall
But Your Word’s alive
Will be after all
(Repeat Chorus)

I could dance all day long to this song. It just makes me SO happy! Love the chorus. It kind of loses its power in the written word …

Elton John’s Friends
Posted by Sue on July 20, 2007
My fave song in college was an infrequently played song by Elton John called Friends. My parents had given me a stereo system for my 21st birthday and I played this one song over and over again. That meant I literally had to lift the player arm and put it back at the beginning of the track over and over again! Not quite like an MP3 player!!! I recently found it in iTunes and these are the lyrics …
I hope the day will be a lighter highway
For friends are found on every road
Can you ever think of any better way
For the lost and weary travellers to go
Making friends for the world to see
Let the people know you got what you need
With a friend at hand you will see the light
If your friends are there then everything’s all right
It seems to me a crime that we should age
These fragile times should never slip us by
A time you never can or shall erase
As friends together watch their childhood fly.

Golf Practice
Posted by Sue on July 20, 2007
Following suggestion for practicing golf for one hour …
One thing that would improve your game is better practice habits; Hogan, Tiger, Singh all loved to practice. Here’s what a one-hour session should consist of: 15 minutes of putting, 10 minutes of chipping, 10 minutes of pitching, five minutes of bunker play, for a total of 40 minutes. The remaining 20 minutes should consist of driving — divide your balls into fifths and hit your sand wedge, 8-iron, 5-iron, woods and driver.
Yes … this would definitely improve my game!

Good Morning Jake!

Good Morning Jake, originally uploaded by pcklinger.
Hubbie is out on the balcony enjoying the view on a lovely morning in Ketchikan, Alaska. Upon further review, I believe hubbie is enjoying our departure from Ketchikan in the early afternoon. Particularly enjoying the fact that the ladies are no longer spending their money shopping in Ketchikan which was our first port of call!!!
