J Fam Updates … Another Grandchild Visits Hospital

The J fam has had a very long week/weekend! The family has been ill all week (Scarlet and Karen have bronchitis and Billy has a bad head cold) and had to return to see the doctor on Friday before the weekend. Well … Scarlet wound up in the hospital to get an xray to make certain that she didn’t have pneumonia! Turns out she doesn’t have pneumonia but she is wheezing. (Doesn’t every J fam unit have at least one member with asthma and/or allergies?!?) Mommy and Daddy have been using their creative energies to come up with ways to entertain her while she takes her breathing treatments. Like I said, a long weekend …

And, of course, this was the weekend when family and friends were going to celebrate Scarlet’s First Birthday. Alas … welcome to life with children! I am sorry to say that my Christmas is all but organized now since none of the original activities of the weekend came to pass. We do look forward to celebrating Scarlet’s birthday whenever everyone gets to feeling better!!!

Baby, It’s Cold Inside!

All is well in Arkansas.  The weather so far this weekend has been mostly overcast but relatively mild … until this afternoon!  After heading out to church in 60 degree weather this morning, we drove home this afternoon past signs showing the temperatures in the high 30s!  Yes … over a 20 degree drop in temperature!!!  We don’t keep the thermostat in the home quite as high as we were accustomed to doing in Texas.  As such … baby, it’s cold inside!!!  When we got home, I immediately made my way to the bureau to look for my thermal underwear and some sweats!  Ah … now that is much more comfie!!!

Update:  I should add that whenever the sun is shining, the sunroom is performing at least as well as expected.  It can get toasty warm in the sunroom regardless of the outside temperature.  I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!  We just have to pray for more sunny than cloudy days!!!
