The Astros created a video tribute to Brad Ausmus upon his retirement this year. Wish I could embed it for everyone but I cannot. Be sure to click this link to see their humorous tribute. Well done and thanks for the memories Brad!

Taking Advantage …
Posted by Sue on September 21, 2008
… of a sad situation. The Houston Chronicle reports that truckers are waiting at Reliant Stadium to offload their supplies. Apparently, coordinating this effort isn’t as smooth as it could be and truckers are therefore paid to sit in the lot and await instruction. They get paid A LOT while they wait …
“John Herring, who works for a trucking company, said some independent contractors are commanding more than $1,000 per day from FEMA as they wait in the Reliant lot.
“It’s taxpayer money that’s being wasted, and I’m upset with FEMA,” said one trucker, Bud Jackson, of Tennessee.”
Talk about waste in government and taking advantage …

W Fam Updates … Potty Training
Posted by Sue on September 15, 2008
From Missy … For the past few days Aaron has been wanting to sit on the potty when we get up in the morning – but nothing has transpired. Today he did not sit on the potty when he got up though. However when I said I needed to go to the potty, he raced ahead of me and got himself set up to use the big potty. Then he sat down and actually went pee pee in the potty!!! So, I think I got the potty training book just in time – now I just have to figure out how we’ll do it. I am super excited for him!
Grandma is super excited for Mommy and Daddy! In the beginning, the child is not usually trained. It is usually the parents who are trained to take the child to the bathroom often enough to avoid accidents! Hoping that works for you guys because life is so much easier when a child uses a potty rather than having to wear diapers. Sounds like he might be ready for Pull Ups!!!
