Here’s a good article about the new groove rules going into effect in professional golf next January 2010. I won’t have to worry about them for a long time. Wouldn’t affect my game anyways! Can you stop a ball on a dime? Neither can I!?!

Clueless Golf Fan
Posted by Sue on March 16, 2009
The fan in this video who screams out for golfer Phil Mickelson’s ball to “Go in the water” after he hit it is, IMHO, just entirely clueless … and classless! Interestingly enough, the announcers had opposing opinions about fan behavior. Your thoughts?!?

Tribute to Ausmus

The Astros created a video tribute to Brad Ausmus upon his retirement this year. Wish I could embed it for everyone but I cannot. Be sure to click this link to see their humorous tribute. Well done and thanks for the memories Brad!

Golf: Putting with Wind
Posted by Sue on July 19, 2008
Did you know that IF your ball moves after you have grounded your putter behind it on a green that it counts as a stroke?!? This year’s British Open is being played in howling winds and the players are all very concerned about this exact thing happening to them. Interestingly enough, many are backing away from their putts BUT … if they don’t mark their balls when they back away, then they are considered to have already addressed the ball and will be penalized a stroke if their ball moves even if they aren’t standing over it! Moral of the story: when playing in wind, don’t ground your putter until you are ready to stroke the ball. And if you back away, mark the ball immediately!!!
